I don't know when the YouTube Premium annual plan launched, and I have never seen the option to switch from the monthly plan to the annual plan in the YouTube app.
Therefore, I tried to cancel my monthly plan, and then I saw the option to subscribe to the annual plan.
YouTube does not allow monthly plan subscribers to see the annual plan option, which is unfair.
Additionally, the annual plan does not renew automatically, so you don't need to worry about forgetting to cancel the subscription.
